Twenty-plus years of not-for-profit leadership, a majority of which were in the capacity as CEO of not-for-profit organizations comprised of boards (Ontario Association of Police Services Boards and Canadian Association of Police Boards) has instilled in Sandi a sound knowledge of board governance, accountability and not-for-profit organizational structure.

Sandi performs a number of functions on behalf of the Canadian Society of Association Executives (CSAE) including:

· Editor of Association™ magazine

· Editor of The Volunteer Newsletter

· Instructor in the Certified Association Executive (CAE®) Program 

Sandi’s philosophical approach to her consulting practice is based on one overriding principle:

The role of the Board and the role of the Chief Staff Officer are poles apart—organizational impotence can, and likely will result, if either of these two critical functions are not clearly defined and ultimately discharged.

Sandi’s recent projects include: orientation sessions for board members; facilitation of board policy-development; workshops to help participants clarify board/staff roles and responsibilities; determination of stakeholder expectations; establishment of committee mandates, policy and accountability frameworks; and, interim association leadership.
